A fiction #1
The four sisters

STMK (aka Sari) has three sisters named (in age order from eldest to youngest): Jessee-Liina, Caroliina and Starella. Sari exists somewhere within the slippery gaps between the age hierarchy of her three sisters.

The story follows a familiar narration: "Once upon a time there were four sisters. Each occupied a special place in the family, and each sister was in some way jealous of what the other sisters were. The ways of behaving and interrelating that the sisters learnt in their small family system have informed their ways of behaving and relating within the larger societal systems of the outside world."

Jessee-Liina as the eldest sister represents a loveable persona, having initially gained love by portraying a sugary sweet and innocent social identity, she has spent most of her life re-enacting the attitude and the gestures that she gained the sense of social acceptance from in the first place.

Caroliina has always viewed herself as the "lesser" version of Jessee-Liina. The second coming, an inferior model. This fixation has remained with Caroliina throughout her life and informs her operational framework for (not) living.

Starella writes: "Sari keeps revealing herself, in effect revealing me. I'd prefer to hide, to remain unseen. To my surprise Sari is starting to resemble my own identity, she seems to think that she can become me once she purges herself of my older sisters, those bimbo blondes who live through an anxiety to have to fit a certain image, conformist attitudes, representations of stupidity. They make me wanna puke. All the time."

Sari meanwhile mediates conflicts between her sisters. She studied counseling some years ago and views herself as a good role model to guide her sisters in the right direction. Sari documents her sisters' lives through text, video and photographs. She is the family narrator.
